No real mystery after spotting the big fat weather-beaten bushy assed A-hole a few weeks earlier. August 24'th crime scene brought the gavel down and deemed said whistle pig guilty as charged. The obvious evidence spoke for itself. Near as I can tell the big fatfock actually managed to unhinge the protective portion of chicken wire on the bottom half of the cattle panel safety net cage and proceeded to stuff his lardazz gobbling piehole with eggplant and every last one of the micro's. Then likely burped and left a pile of all steaming shit in the south corner before not remembering how in the hell he got in. Subsequently ripping the hell out of the fresh landscape weed suppression fabric before digging out a panicked exit and taking another whew dump on the outside which I noticed beings I damned near stepped in it... The only good thing about this rant is he never touched the Crowns and they went on their merry growth cycle out producing all previous years which can not be said for those particular unfortunate eggplants or micro's. Seriously, these bushy basturdz seem to have some fetish/penchant for eggplant that likely will not be resolved without a steeltoe boot up their backside or a 9mm lead haircut. Rant off:o) 2019 notes: 10 gallon grow bags and the wild gerbils are knawing up the bags...for what I do, pretty much done with bags. Bad wind snapped many of the peps when loaded down with pods...Stakes or no stakes 60 mph raises hell with brittle plants.2016 notes:These were grown in 8 and 10 gallon pots in Central MI zone 5 and were about the same height as most of the other peppers, but sometime in early August they had some sort of identity crisis and decided they wished to become beanstalks instead. Good grief by October they were well above the 4' foot fencing that surrounded them. I would say well over 5' tall. Normally they are a fairly large plant and should grow about 3' tall. They are not really a bushy plant, a bit more like a tree. They have green leaves and stems and the blossoms are white.The pods are generally 3 sided with a dome and suppose to be about 2 wide by 1.5 high, some of the fruit I harvested was not much bigger than that but some were over 3 wide and 2 high, so they clearly can get larger than what is generally stated. I was quite proud of their effort. The fruit ripens from green to orange to a glowing red.The Scoville rating depending on where you look is 5000-15000. I didn't think they were that hot, although I did discover a decent bit of heat as I knawed my way towards the seed cavity. They have great sweet apple-like flavor. Excellent pepper for salsas, salads, stuffing or fresh eating.The maturity is 80-85 days from time of transplant (not sprout) The seeds should be started 6-8 weeks before your last expected frost.Note: These plants will survive pretty close to 32F, they didn't much care for getting snowed on though.Ships for free via USPS first class mail the same or next business dayThanks for considering zuluseeds.My best, JoelRoasted Bishop's Crown chillies Feta cheese Garlic Fresh basil Extra Virgin olive oil Salt pepperMethods Wash and clean the chilies, slicing off the stalk to expose the seeds. Use a knife and the end of a teaspoon to remove all the seeds from inside the chillies, placing inside a roasting tray. Preheat the oven the 150 degrees Celsius. Fill the hollow chillies with a cube of feta cheese. Press one or two cloves of garlic, rip the basil and distribute both roughly over the top of chillies with some basil. Drizzle the chillies with olive oil then season with salt and pepper. Cook in the oven for 20-25 minutes until soft. Serve hot or cold.
